The bargaining unit law enforcement officers and employees voted overwhelmingly at a recent secret ballot election conducted by the State Employment Relations Board for Teamsters Local Union No. 637 to be their union representative rather than the FOP/OLC. DAYTONA BEACH CHOOSE TEAMSTERS A two day election at the Daytona Beach Police Department to determine which union should represent the city's sergeants and police officers, went overwhelmingly for the Teamsters, which has been representing them for more than a decade. Teamsters union representative Jeff Candage said his union received 156 votes compared to 21 votes for the Fraternal Order of Police union. Aside from voting for one of the two unions, officers could also have voted to have no union representative. "That received zero votes", Candage said Thursday.
